The Audi BHK is a 3.6L naturally aspirated VR6 gasoline engine from the Volkswagen-Audi Group’s EA390 series (actual displacement: 3,597 cc; commonly referred to as the 3.6 FSI). It belongs to the second-generation VR6 narrow-angle six-cylinder family and was produced from approximately 2005 to 2010.
Derived from the 3.2 FSI with increased displacement, this engine features a cast-iron VR6 block (with a cylinder angle of approximately 10.6°–15°), an aluminum alloy cylinder head, direct injection (FSI), dual-chain timing drive, and dual variable valve timing. Primarily designed for large SUV platforms, it delivers smooth power delivery and ample low-end torque, serving as the main naturally aspirated six-cylinder powerplant for the first-generation Audi Q7 and the first-generation Volkswagen Touareg.
